The Place

Kasteel Van Laarne is a gastronomical restaurant located in the outbuildings of the castle of Laarne (near Ghent). The beautiful castle dates from the thirteenth century and is a protected monument since 1943. Nowadays it serves as a museum. The castle offers an amazing décor for a culinary night out and the authentic, medieval atmosphere is also present in the restaurant itself.

The interior of restaurant Kasteel Van Laarne is tasteful, luxurious and combines characteristic authentic elements with arty accents. Chef Bart Gossye and his wife Sofie manage the restaurant and guarantee a warm and exclusive welcome.

The Food

Chef Bart Gossye cooks with passion and in his kitchen you will find tradition and craftsmanship. Bart has been cooking at Het Kasteel van Laarne for over 15 years and recognizable, mainly Belgian products form the basis of his dishes.

The “Belgian Taste Buds” Experience

Kasteel Van Laarne is a nice and decent gastronomical restaurant integrated in the remarkable surroundings of the Castle of Laarne, near Ghent. Chef Bart Gossye prepares pleasant dishes without taking too much risks. We appreciated the classic preparations and pure products, but missed some seasoning & creativity throughout the meal. The pigeon with foie gras dish was the highlight of our menu and surprised in simplicity and great flavours.
