CY – Sea view dining (Knokke-Heist)


The concept

CY is a gastronomic pop-up restaurant from BMW and Miele, located right on the beach in Knokke-Heist. To celebrate its 100th anniversary this summer, BMW opens up this exclusive pop-up restaurant during a two-month period in summer. Guests are pampered with a stunning sea view and a menu composed by three top chefs: Filip Claeys (De Jonkman), David Martin (La Paix) and Roger Van Damme (Het Gebaar). CY (sie ‘wai) is a collaboration between BMW Belux, Miele and the municipality of Knokke-Heist. The creation and operation of this culinary experience is held by Brands & Butter.


The Chefs & The food

We had lunch at the restaurant on the 13th of July and enjoyed the following dishes:

Appetiser: ham, crisps and tapenade 


Starter: Cheesecake of goat cheese with parmesan, pomegranate and grapefruit, from David Martin, chef at La Paix in Anderlecht and Bozar Brasserie in Brussels.


Main course: Grilled brill, artichoke, pickles and soup with curry and swimming crab, from Filip Claeys, chef of De Jonkman in Bruges.


Dessert: Mousse of strawberries from Hoogstraten and raspberries, with hints of yoghurt and basil. Created by Roger Van Damme from Het Gebaar.




The three course menu costs € 85 and € 120 with wines included.

CY is open from July 9 to August 28, 2016, on weekdays from 18:00 to 21:00 and on weekends and holidays from 12:00 to 15:00 and from 18:00 to 21:00. CY is closed on Tuesdays.
